The project I chose is the construction of a community library. The world today is embracing enlightenment, the best source of knowledge for enlightened people in the library. A project will involve the construction of a three-story building with a parking lot in the basement. The building will be constructed so that it will be fire-resistive and with a slate roof. The project will take an estimate of 12 months from the beginning to completion.

The community library will be located in a central position since it will be a social facility accessible by everyone in society. This project aims to construct a facility that will help boost the knowledge capacity of residents. In society today, everyone is a reader. People read for different purposes. Some are in pursuit of knowledge, while others are molding their professionalism. Others are researching to maybe, support their businesses, start up a business, and in a library, you cannot lack one or two who are reading for fun. Secondly, the goal is to reduce idleness in the community by absorbing most of the youth in the locality and saving on the expenses that members of the community incur by purchasing too many books and the traveling cost to access library services. The interested parties in society will get the most recent knowledge and understanding of the world's prevailing issues. It will also help reduce the cost of traveling to access library services and the expense of buying a lot of books.

The objective of the project is to construct a community library for residents starting from next month. The library will have a capacity of 2000 people to accommodate a good number of people in society. The success of these projects will be indicated by the completion of the project within a certain period, ensuring ample parking for readers and members of the library and a fast and effective network to access online materials and eBooks. Lastly, ensuring that in the next 12 months, the library is complete and ready to be equipped and start operation. The major stakeholders will be parastatals who have united and would like to support the local community's education.

Since the parastatals have already gained momentum by engaging highly in academic matters, they are the key customers of these projects. Besides them, the United Nations has been talking about the construction of libraries for a long time, and thus they are a possible catch for this project. The major stakeholders of this project are the American Institute of Curriculum Development and UNICEF. The two are interested in the project because it complements their line of operation as it engages in availing study materials to enlighten society. The first step of undertaking a proposal is seeking stakeholders’ approval. So far, stakeholders have approved the construction of the library.

The field team has identified a suitable location for the construction of the building. The company’s civil engineer has examined the location and approved that it is suitable for constructing a community library. A building should not be constructed without a comprehensive analysis by a civil engineer; thus, we sent the engineer there. An architectural design is already available. A meeting with the construction management of America is scheduled to take place next week on Wednesday. Construction consent has been acquired, but there is one step remaining; it will be ready before the end of the month. The project is set to kick off on the first of December, by which the project manager will have already composed a team that will carry out the project to completion.

The first phase of the project will be constructing a perimeter wall as the project will require the use of certain equipment that requires tight security; the second phase will be purchasing raw materials, which is set to take place in the first week of January. Towards mid-January, the foundation will be placed. By the end of February, the basement will be complete, and the ground floor will start in early March. By the end of April, the first floor is supposed to be completed, and the final floor's construction is underway. Towards the end of July, the third floor of the building will have been completed. Roofing will be done in August, after which interior design will kick off immediately.

Interior designing is expected to go for two months, thus covering September and October. Come November; landscaping will be done to make the outside attractive and presentable. In December, all the last touches will be done, including installing security cameras and other utilities in the library. By January 2022, the library will be ready for opening. The cost of construction is estimated to be $72 million. The budget is all-inclusive. A team of 68 employees will be required, including a human resource manager, construction manager, civil engineer, economist, and masons. On several occasions, casual labor will be required, and it will be sourced from the local community.

In conclusion, this is a proposal for constructing a community library that will be starting next month. The customers of this project are parastatals with the society that have volunteered to support education.
