Introduction
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations aim to address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. Among these, certain goals are deemed more feasible than others based on current technological, political, and economic conditions. This paper aims to identify my top three most feasible SDGs and my top three least feasible SDGs. Additionally, I will analyze a recent news article related to climate change, correlating it with the week's lesson.
Most Feasible Sustainable Development Goals
The three SDGs I consider most feasible are Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, and Goal 4: Quality Education. Climate Action is increasingly supported through international cooperation and technological advancements in renewable energy (UN, 2023). The urgency of climate change mobilizes government and private sector efforts, making tangible progress more achievable than in the past (IPCC, 2022). Goal 7 benefits from dramatic reductions in renewable energy costs, innovations in solar and wind power, and policy support, thus enhancing feasibility (IRENA, 2021). Lastly, Goal 4 focuses on expanding access to quality education worldwide, which is progressing through digital learning platforms and international partnerships, despite some barriers (UNESCO, 2022).
Least Feasible Sustainable Development Goals
Conversely, the three SDGs I see as least feasible are Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals. Achieving Peace and Justice remains elusive in regions affected by ongoing conflicts and political instability (UN, 2021). Reducing inequalities requires systemic changes in economic and social policies, which are difficult given entrenched interests and power structures (OECD, 2020). Goal 17 depends heavily on global partnerships, which face challenges from geopolitical tensions, differing national interests, and uneven capacity among countries. These obstacles make substantial progress in these areas more difficult within the current geopolitical landscape.
Analysis of a Recent Climate Change News Article
The selected news article titled "Extreme Weather Events Signal Urgent Climate Crisis" from The New York Times (2023) discusses recent record-breaking heatwaves, hurricanes, and flooding in various parts of the world. The article highlights scientific reports linking these extreme weather events directly to climate change caused by increasing greenhouse gas emissions. It describes efforts by governments and communities to adapt and mitigate, such as investing in resilient infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Conclusion
The feasibility of achieving specific SDGs varies based on current global conditions. While progress is evident in areas like renewable energy and education, significant hurdles persist in peace-building and inequality reduction. The recent news article further illustrates the pressing impact of climate change, reinforcing the need for immediate and sustained efforts to combat this crisis aligned with SDG 13.
