Avoid the use of personal I statements when drafting the thesis statement. Do not use 1st person "I" or 2nd person "you/your." Stick to 3rd person. Do not refer to the essay itself (Example: "This essay will prove..."). Thesis statements are not in the form of a question.*

The development of sustainable energy sources has become an urgent global issue, driven by concerns over climate change, finite fossil fuel reserves, and environmental degradation. The primary purpose of this research paper is to argue that renewable energy sources—such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power—are essential alternatives to traditional fossil fuels. The paper will analyze the environmental benefits of renewable energy, compare their economic feasibility, and address the technological innovations that support their integration into existing energy grids.
Initially, my understanding was rooted in the belief that renewable energy could be a supplement rather than a replacement for fossil fuels. However, after preliminary research and considering policy implications, I now believe that a transition to renewable energy is not only feasible but imperative for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring energy security. The paper will examine case studies of countries that have successfully integrated renewable energy, highlighting policies and technological advancements that facilitated this transition. I also plan to explore the economic challenges and solutions associated with scaling renewable infrastructure, including funding, subsidies, and investment incentives.
My intended research will involve current statistics on renewable energy adoption, technological innovations in the field, and government policies worldwide. I aim to gather data from credible sources such as international energy agencies, peer-reviewed journal articles, and reports by environmental organizations. This research will enable me to construct a comprehensive argument supporting the increased adoption of renewable energy and countering common criticisms related to cost and reliability.
