As I prepare for my future as a Registered Nurse, I anticipate that cultural diversity will substantially influence my practice, particularly in urban healthcare settings where patient backgrounds are highly varied.

In an urban environment such as New York City or Los Angeles, where I expect to work, I will encounter patients from diverse cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. This diversity can impact communication, health beliefs, treatment adherence, and trust in healthcare providers. For example, language barriers may hinder effective communication, necessitating the use of interpreters or culturally sensitive communication techniques. Additionally, understanding cultural health practices and beliefs will be crucial in formulating patient-centered care plans that respect individual values while ensuring safety and efficacy.
