This paper reflects on the six-step process and thirty standards outlined in the CDC’s framework, analyzing how my current program evaluation plan aligns with these standards and identifying areas for improvement. Furthermore, I will discuss how my evaluation plan meets the four key standards—utility, feasibility, propriety, and accuracy—and propose strategies to enhance alignment with the CDC’s principles.
Overview of the CDC’s Framework for Program Evaluation
The CDC’s framework emphasizes six interconnected steps: 1) Engage stakeholders, 2) Describe the program, 3) Focus the evaluation design, 4) Gather credible evidence, 5) Justify conclusions, and 6) Ensure use and sharing of findings. Each step contains specific standards designed to promote rigor, transparency, and relevance in evaluation practice (CDC, 2011). The thirty standards further specify criteria related to utility, feasibility, propriety, and accuracy, ensuring evaluations are meaningful and ethically conducted.
Alignment of My Program Evaluation Plan with the CDC’s Framework
My evaluation plan comprehensively addresses the six steps.
