The Masters Program In Education Special Education Is Of Particular
The Masters Program in Education & Special Education is of particular interest to me because I want to work with young children to set them up for success. I aim to create an impactful and nourishing environment for children’s growth and development. My initial interest in working with children began in high school, when I helped my mother with her kindergarten class. I had the opportunity to read and write with young children at the daycare, encouraging them to read along with me, which fueled my passion for education and child development.
Over time, my aspirations evolved towards healthcare, specifically pediatric nursing. I entered LIU University to pursue a nursing degree, driven by the desire to make a difference in children’s lives through health and wellness. During clinical rotations in pediatrics and maternity departments, I worked with children experiencing a range of health issues—from minor injuries to lifelong disabilities. Witnessing their resilience and hopeful expressions despite their hardships was deeply inspiring. These experiences reinforced my commitment to working with children, fostering their well-being, and supporting their developmental needs.
However, my journey was marked by challenges. I faced personal difficulties that impacted my academic performance, resulting in my expulsion from the nursing program with a GPA of 3.3.
