Agents of socialization refer to the various individuals, groups, and institutions that influence a person's social development and transmit cultural values, beliefs, and expectations. These agents serve as primary sources through which individuals learn how to behave in society and adopt socially acceptable roles.

In my life, two significant agents of socialization have been my family and the media. For example, television programs often depict gender roles, success stories, and cultural norms, influencing my perceptions of what is considered appropriate or desirable. Social media exposes me to diverse perspectives and societal standards that shape my understanding of social expectations in contemporary society. Social expectations, in my own words, refer to the societal norms, roles, and behaviors that are deemed acceptable or appropriate within a given culture or community.
