Citrix Receiver must be installed on each device used to access GCU applications. If you are using a Chrome OS device, skip to the "Connecting through the Web Interface" section. To install Citrix Receiver, go to the designated download page, then select "Download Receiver for Windows" or "Download Receiver for Mac" depending on your platform. Accept the license agreement by checking the box and clicking Continue. A file will download to your computer. Once downloaded, open the file to begin the installation process. Mac users will need to click on the "Install Citrix Receiver.pkg" file that appears. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation, which may take several minutes. After installation, Citrix Receiver will be ready to launch your applications.

There are two methods to connect to your GCU applications: using the Receiver Client or through the Web Interface. Both methods provide access to the same applications, so choose the one that best suits your computing preferences.

Connecting to Your Apps

Option 1 - Connecting with the Receiver Client (Initial Setup)

Start the Citrix Receiver application. If it is already running, you will see its icon in the notification area or dock. Enter the server address provided by GCU and click Next. When prompted, enter your GCU username and password, then click Log On. You will be asked to confirm the connection; click "Yes" and then "Finish" to complete the setup. After this process, Receiver will be connected to GCUApps and ready to launch applications.

Option 2 - Connecting through the Web Interface

Open your web browser and navigate to the GCU web interface login page. Log in using your GCU username and password. Once logged in, you can customize your list of applications by clicking the "+" button on the left side of the screen. Browse the available applications and add those you wish to access regularly to your MyApps desktop. To launch an application, simply click on its icon. For web interface users, if clicking an icon prompts a file download, open the downloaded file to start the application.

Conclusion

Proper installation and connection to Citrix Receiver facilitate seamless access to GCU applications across various devices. Whether opting for the Receiver client or the web interface, users can customize their app lists and launch applications efficiently, ensuring flexible and reliable productivity. For optimal performance, ensure that the Receiver is up to date and that your device meets the necessary system requirements, as recommended by GCU IT support.
