Criteria: Please Respond To The Following Criteria As A Crit
Criteriaplease Respond To The Followingcriteria Are A Critical Part
Define the term criteria and examine two (2) ways they function in helping someone make an important decision. Note: You can use an example from your own life to help clearly explain your point. Discuss your potential topic for the justification report (a workplace problem – see Assignment 2.1 details) then determine which criteria you intend to use to help make your decision. Be sure to cite two (2) reasons why you chose those criteria.

Criteria are essential standards or benchmarks used to evaluate and compare different options or solutions when making informed decisions. They serve as a foundation for assessing the relative merits of each alternative based on what is most important to the decision-maker. In decision-making processes, criteria facilitate objective evaluation and help ensure that choices align with organizational goals or personal values.
There are primarily two ways in which criteria function to aid decision-making. First, they act as filters that narrow down possible options by eliminating those that do not meet certain standards or requirements. For example, if a company is choosing a new software system, criteria such as cost, compatibility, and user-friendliness can exclude solutions that do not satisfy these prerequisites. Second, criteria provide a basis for ranking options according to their compliance with desired attributes, enabling decision-makers to select the best or most suitable alternative. Continuing the previous example, once options are screened, criteria like efficiency, scalability, and support can be used to prioritize the remaining solutions, ensuring the chosen one offers the most benefits relative to its costs and practicality.
To illustrate these functions with an example from personal life, suppose I need to select a new vehicle. I might establish criteria such as affordability, fuel efficiency, safety features, and size. These criteria help me filter out vehicles that are too expensive or lack essential safety features, thereby simplifying my choices. Additionally, I might rank remaining options based on fuel efficiency and safety ratings to identify the best fit for my needs, demonstrating how criteria both narrow options and guide final selection.
Regarding my potential topic for the justification report, I am considering addressing a workplace problem related to employee productivity decline due to inefficient communication channels. To make an informed decision about resolving this problem, I plan to evaluate solutions such as implementing a new collaboration platform or restructuring communication workflows. The criteria I intend to use include cost, ease of implementation, user acceptance, impact on productivity, and scalability. I have chosen these criteria because cost directly affects budget constraints; ease of implementation influences the feasibility within a short timeframe; user acceptance determines the likelihood of successful adoption; the impact on productivity assesses the effectiveness of the solution; and scalability ensures the chosen solution can grow with the organization.
