Leader and Manager's Roles in Evidence-Based Practice Directions: As a new nurse, you will need to focus on using evidence to support your practice.

As a new nurse, actively promoting and sustaining evidence-based practice (EBP) is essential for ensuring high-quality patient care and improving healthcare outcomes. Leadership and management play critical roles in fostering an environment that values continuous learning, critical appraisal of research, and the integration of evidence into clinical decisions. To effectively promote EBP, I plan to participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities, including attending workshops and seminars that focus on current research methodologies and best practices in nursing. Regularly reviewing credible research articles and current clinical guidelines will enable me to integrate valid evidence into my daily practice. Furthermore, I will collaborate with senior nurses and interprofessional teams to develop and update clinical policies, ensuring they are grounded in the latest evidence. As a leader, I will encourage a culture of inquiry by supporting nurses in questioning existing practices and seeking evidence to justify changes. Mentoring and supporting colleagues to adopt EBP fosters a collective commitment to excellence and patient safety. Additionally, I will advocate for organizational resources such as access to research databases and training programs that enhance evidence appraisal skills. By maintaining a commitment to EBP, I will contribute to a healthcare environment that prioritizes research-informed practices, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2015; Stevens, 2013; Craig & Fink, 2018).
