Watched The Two Past Assignments Content
Assignment Contentstophave You Watched The Two Past Assigned Short
Stop! Have you watched the two, past assigned, short videos on APA 7 Title Page and References Page? If not, you must do that first, because this submission requires both. In class today, you were asked to find your first research article that explores your approved research question. (DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ASSIGNMENT UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENT and gained approval: Brainstorming and Research Question.) For this assignment, I want you to create a single, APA 7-compliant, Word document. To earn full credit, you must do the following:
Proper APA 7 Title Page (watch the video and see p. 31 in the Foundations text to help you create a perfect title page).
Simply answer the following questions:
- What is your approved research question from the Brainstorming Research Question HW assignment? (5 pts)
- What is the title of the research article you found? (5 pts)
- Does the article contain the methodology the researchers used to conduct the study/research? To get full credit, you must:
- (a) name the methodology,
- (b) cut and paste the paragraph from the article that details the methodology, AND
- (c) highlight indicator words.
- Does the article contain findings or results of the research? To get full credit, you must:
- (a) cut and paste excerpts from the article that detail the findings (go to Discussion section or at times Conclusion), AND
- (b) highlight specific words that detail the findings.
Create a proper APA 7 References Page with your ONE research article (refer to the video and see pp. 33-34 for the FORMAT you must use to create your reference and p. 32 for a perfect sample of what a References Page looks like).
Paper For Above instruction
The purpose of this assignment is to synthesize critical components of scholarly research by accurately presenting a research question, identifying and evaluating a research article’s methodology and findings, and properly formatting references according to APA 7 standards. This process enables students to develop skills in scholarly writing, critical reading, and APA style compliance, essential for academic research and writing.
First, students must clearly state their approved research question, which they previously developed and received approval for during the brainstorming stage. The research question frames the entire research process and guides the selection of relevant articles. Precise articulation of this question demonstrates clarity of purpose and focus in research methodology.
Next, students need to identify the research article they have selected that directly relates to their research question. The article’s title should be provided plainly, establishing the connection between the research question and existing scholarly work.
An essential part of this assignment involves analyzing the methodology section of the article. Students are required to explicitly state the methodology used (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, experimental, survey, case study). They must then cut and paste the paragraph from the article that describes this methodology, ensuring that the core details are captured accurately. Highlighting indicator words such as “participants,” “randomized,” “data collection,” “survey,” “interview,” or “experimental design” helps demonstrate understanding of methodological terminology and its contextual application.
Similarly, students must examine the results or findings section of the article, often located in the Discussion or Conclusion sections. They should cut and paste the excerpts that explicitly describe the findings or outcomes of the research. Highlighting specific words like “significant,” “correlated,” “improved,” “decreased,” “increased,” “indicated,” or “limitations” helps underscore the empirical evidence derived from the study. This practice encourages familiarity with research reporting standards and improves interpretative skills.
Finally, students are tasked with creating a correctly formatted APA 7 References page featuring their single research article. This part involves applying APA formatting rules, such as author name order, publication year, article title, source (journal name, volume, pages, DOI or URL), ensuring the entire references adheres to APA style as exemplified in class materials and referenced pages.
This comprehensive assignment enhances critical reading, analytical thinking, and proper APA formatting, foundational skills for any scholarly endeavor. It also fosters precision and clarity in academic writing, necessary for effective dissemination of research findings.
